Alpine Mercury Industries Inc. manufactures NaviSki, an easy-open ski trail map worn on the forearm for quick reference at ski slopes.

NaviSki itself is simply a trail map, which is printed on water resistant paper enclosed in a rugged polypropylene housing with an elastic strap to allow it to slip onto the forearm of the user. The housing has a hinged lid which is easily flipped open, automatically deploying the uniquely folded map in such a way that the map folds itself up again when the lid is closed – thus eliminating the awkward unfolding and refolding of the maps currently supplied by ski resorts.

Alpine Mercury’s goal is a more rewarding and hassle-free experience for all skiers and snow boarders by providing a high quality, rugged device which will aid them in navigating the ski slopes and coordinating with their fellow skiers.

  • Novice skiers can rely on NaviSki to keep them off dangerous advanced trails and aid them in staying on the easy “green” trails.
  • Intermediate skiers can utilize NaviSki in seeking out broader terrain to challenge their skills and enhance their skiing experience.
  • Expert skiers will use the maps to find the most advanced runs for experiences that exceed their expectations.
